The InfoBase on the European Research Vessels (EurOcean_RV) was launched in 2006; summing up (at the moment) a total of 313 vessels available for consultation.

The InfoBase gathers information on European research vessels (operating, planned/under construction and out of service) with a length higher than 10m. The InfoBase's 87 descriptors provide information on technical specifications, onboard equipment and contact information, also available in the InfoBase there is an area with basic online statistics for an overview of the information displayed by the tool. For some large vessels there is also a possibility to consult the real time position.

A friendly-user interface allows the end user to filter the vessels according to: name of vessel, vessel category, country, length, main activity and availability to chart.
