The InfoBase on the European Large Exchangeable Instruments (EurOcean_LEXI) was launched in 2011 summing up (at the moment) a total of 116 Instruments available for consultation.

The new InfoBase on the European Large Exchangeable Equipments (EurOcean_LEXI) gathers information of two previous existing EurOcean's InfoBases:

• EurOcean_UV - European Underwater Vehicles InfoBase
• EurOcean_LEXI - Large Exchangeable Instrument InfoBase - (InfoBase produced in cooperation with the Institute of Marine Research of Norway).

Twenty seven categories of instruments have been identified and twenty descriptors have been associated to each record. A user-friendly interface allows the end-user to select the instruments according to: the name of vehicle, the country, the type of vehicle and the depth range.
