| Environmental Treaties and Resource Indicators (ENTRI) NILOS program of work focuses on the international processes by which a new international law of the sea is formed, as well as the substantive outcome of such processes. Additionally, it examines the unprecedented problems of policy formulation and regulatory responsibilities in relation to the law of the sea at the national level. This with the aim of contributing through research to these international processes and their outcome and with the aim of assisting (developing) states in the formulation of national policies and legislation. |
| High North Alliance The organisation was established in response to the campaigns calling for a total ban on all commercial whaling and sealing; and the even more radical ones calling for a total ban on the killing of marine mammals for any reason whatsoever. HNA's task is to provide alternative information to these campaigns. The organisation's objective is to protect the rights of whalers, sealers and fishermen to harvest renewable resources in accordance with the principle of sustainable management. HNA also works towards consolidating the knowledge and skills necessary for the ecologically sound management of marine mammal resources. |
