EurOcean has carried out a preliminary statistical analysis of the 245 FP6 projects. The report outlines the key features of the Info-Base and presents a statistical overview in terms of:
1) participation of the European countries;
2) number of projects per activity area and repartition of the funding by activity areas and countries; and
3) evolution of the FP budget of the EC allocated to marine research from 1987 until now.

Updates to the Info-Base are still undergoing and, consequently, this report does not intend to presently provide a final assessment of the marine projects funded under FP6.
