EurOcean's Executive Director, Ned Dwyer, was in Bergen this week, together with Tiago Garcia, participating in the InMarTech (Interenational Marine Technicians) 2016 conference. InMarTech. This year saw the 10th addition of the conference, which was designed to a forum for marine technicians to meet, and exchange knowledge and experiences, aiming to improve equipment performance, equipment deployment, and operational techniques during scientific cruises on research vessels.
The year's conference was hosted by EurOcean member, Institute of Marine Research (IMR). The conference, which is held biennially, has previously been hosted by another EurOcean memeber, IFREMER, in 2008.
EurOcean had a stand at the exhibition area of the conference. During the meeting, EurOcean also collaborated with the European project Eurofleets2, in which EurOcean is a partner, to present a two-hour session demonstrating the project tools, including the new and improved Research Infrastructures Database (RID).
