- Norway has a coastline of 25.148 km (includes mainland 2.650 km, as well as long fjords, numerous small islands, and minor indentations 22.498 km; length of island coastlines 58.133 km).
- Fishing and fish farmin represent 0.6% of the GDP (2007).
Maritime Activities
- Fish is the third most important export product after oil/gas and metal, and accounts for 4.5% of the total Norwegian export value. The largest share of the export goes to Denmark, Russia, France and Japan.
- The Norwegian fishing fleet is of 7.041 vessels (2007) and has a total tonnage of 354.833 (2007).
- Salmon represents 85 per cent of the total sale of Norwegian fish farming that ascends to 828.000 tonnes of farmed fish sold in 2007.
