- Poland has the 2nd largest shipbuilding industry in EU in terms of output and in 2004 was the 5th in the world (with 2.3% of the global market).
- Polish Marine equipment sector provides almost one quarter of the EU jobs in that sector.
- The majority of the European Searfarers are Polish (aproximately 12%).
