EurOcean operates through networks and relies, as far as possible, on the competent structures existing at national and European levels in order to implement its work programme.
It is presently staffed with one Executive-Director Ned Dwyer and five Science Officers Sandra Sá, Cristina Costa, Sofia Cordeiro, Zoi Konstantinou and Ruth Higgins.

Ned Dwyer (Executive-Director) Email: ned.dwyer@eurocean.org Phone: (+351) 21 392 44 86 Ned Dwyer graduated in electronic engineering and has an MSc and PhD in satellite remote sensing applications. He has more than 25 years’ of professional experience, much of which is in marine research and information management. From 2002 to 2014 he worked at the Coastal and Marine Research Centre of University College Cork, Ireland as team leader of the Applied Remote Sensing and GIS group and from 2010 as the Centre´s Deputy Director. He was co-chair of the IOC/IODE International Coastal Atlas Network (ICAN) Project from 2008 to 2014 and is still actively involved in its Steering Group. |

Sandra Sá (Science Officer) Email: sandra.sa@fct.pt Phone: (+351) 21 391 15 45 Sandra Sá is graduated in Biology and Geology and specialised in Marine and Coastal Zones Sciences. Mrs. Sandra Sá is responsible for the information management of the Internet Portal, namely, for marine infrastructures: research vessels in Europe, underwater research vehicles and large exchangeable instruments. Mrs Sá is also responsible for the public outreach area. |

Cristina Costa (Office Coordinator) Email: costa.cristina@fct.pt Phone: (+351) 21 391 15 45 Cristina Costa is graduated in Environmental Engineering and specialised in European Projects Management in particular those under the ERA-Net scheme. Ms. Cristina Costa is responsible for the information management of the Internet Portal, namely, for European Information. Ms Costa is also responsible for the EurOcean participation in FP7 Projects as well as the Office Coordination. |
| Sofia Cordeiro (Science Officer) Email: sofia.cordeiro@fct.pt Phone: (+351) 21 392 44 95 Sofia Cordeiro is graduated in Applied Plant Biology and has a PhD in Physiology and Biochemistry obtained at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. Previously Sofia worked as Scientific Events Manager at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) in Madrid, Spain. At the EurOcean, she is responsible for the financial management of the Centre and for the organisation of scientific events in which the EurOcean is the main organiser. |

She holds an MSc in Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development and a PhD in the field of Integrated Coastal Management (ICM), both obtained at the Department of Civil Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), Greece. Previously she worked as a researcher and project manager. |

Ruth Higgins (Science Officer) Email: ruth.higgins@fct.pt Phone: (+351) 21 392 44 97 Ruth Higgins is a marine scientist with a BSc in Zoology and a PhD in Marine Ecology from UCC and UCD, respectively, Ireland. Ruth previously worked as a researcher and project manager in fisheries and conservation at IMAR-DOP, University of the Azores, Portugal. At EurOcean, Ruth is involved in communications for the project Sea for Society. |
